Paige Diggs

Paige Diggs of Bowie, Md. is a prospective student at Towson University, where she plans on majoring in marketing. She served as the vice president of the Best Buddies program at Bowie High School her senior year. It was her participation in Best Buddies that motivated her to pursue marketing as a potential career path. After developing friendships with students who have intellectual and developmental disabilities, she was inspired to bridge the gap between students with special needs and those without by arranging and promoting various social activities and events throughout her school.

She also served as a member of the Student Government Association and the Global Anti-destruction Alliance in high school while remaining active in her community. During her junior year she received recognition from the City of Bowie for her participation in the Bowie Youth Leadership Program, where she learned the importance of incorporating networking and relationship building with community service. She has volunteered with the Sasha Bruce Youthwork assisting in collecting donated goods for needy families, and she continues to donate time to A Need to Feed, serving food to individuals who are homeless in D.C.

As a former member of Bowie High School's Tri-M Music Honor Society, Paige's long-term goal is to own a performing arts center for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities that will serve as a facility for special needs individuals to express various forms of fine arts.
